I was born in Norfolk, VA and moved to Los Angeles, CA when I was a child. I am fluent in Chinese (both Mandarin and Cantonese) and can speak some Japanese. I have a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Asian American Studies from the University of California, Irvine. I also have a Master of Arts in Teaching and Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Studies from UC Irvine as well as a supplemental authorization to teach English/Language Arts. From 2010 to 2012, I was employed by the Alliance for College Ready Public Schools as a 7th grade Medieval World History teacher at CRMA #5.
